I met Kevin Raber at a sale I was attending. Not to buy a horse, but to learn and understand the process. I also wanted to determine what price range I needed to shoot for as well as to meet the trainers to discuss their horses. Kevin was very gracious with his time and I was very impressed with his horses. He told me to follow on Facebook as all the sale horses that came available were listed there and to contact him when I knew I was ready to start the process of looking for my horse. Many months passed as did many sales. I knew the time was right to contact Kevin and start the process. Based on what I wanted he advised me to look at 5 he had at the Best of Texas sale in 2021. He told me they were all horses that they had raised since weanlings and had been in their program the whole time. He also told me he had 2 finished show horses available to try as well. I made arrangements to visit their facility. Kevin and his wife Marybeth were amazing and welcoming. They listened to what I was saying in regards to what I planned on doing with the horse. They saddled every horse that was currently available to try and explained the pros and cons of each one. My decision was hard because they had 3 I really loved, but ultimately it came down to one. Luckily I was able to come away with him at the sale, only because Kevin made me a gracious offer in hauling him for me. This allowed me to have just that extra amount of cash I needed to win the bid. I wouldn’t have gotten him otherwise. Diamond K continues to help me with Chrome even 1 1/2 years later. Whether it is to send me the bit I need, to give me advice when I text to ask “what cue did you use for this”, or just to check in to see how it’s going. I can’t say enough great things about my experience. I feel like once I bought the horse, the relationship didn’t just end. They genuinely care that you reach your goals. Best of all my horse was as advertised.

I wanted to take this opportunity to give you an update on our progress and to express, once again, our sincerest gratitude as we near the four-month anniversary of our winning bid at the Spring Horseman’s Mission Select Auction, on Huey, the beautiful 5-year-old Palomino gelding.  This son of HF Mobster has been nothing short of magnificent, a beautiful, well-trained horse with a great personality! 
As you know from our many visits together over this past year, my daughter and I have spent several years looking for that once in a lifetime horse.  Our search took us out west to Wyoming and Colorado, south to Texas and many points in between.  All the while searching for that well trained, versatile horse experienced in reining and western pleasure that I could enjoy as I approach retirement. 
Even though there were times, we felt that the market might have put our ideal horse out of reach; you calmly and constantly assured us that you would find the right horse for us and within our budget.

Thanking my lucky stars to find Kevin and Mary Beth Raber and their integrity filled Diamond K Horses personalized operation as I recently decided to introduce my grandchildren into my world of horses!
48 years ago, I was finishing up a nationally ranked AQHA Youth Activity run on an amazing versatile Wimpy bred QH specializing in horsemanship, reining and Western riding. I stopped horses when he passed at 35 years old and didn’t see a path forward to include them into my life.
Fast forward to the current day with respectful & humane training techniques! I was delighted to find trainers like Kevin achieving consistently good minded, well broke, versatile, trustworthy happy horses-a long dream come true!
I also found a genuine desire in Kevin to make a good “fit” for this “Gigi” and my “grands” and patiently and respectfully helped me gain my confidence back as I purchased my 1st perfect boy at an on-line sale and then my 2nd by going to his beautiful facility and riding available horses there.
