About Us

Diamond K is operated by two families, Kevin and Marybeth Raber out of Ohio, and the Hostetlers out of Missouri. We’ve been in business together for several years.

Our Experience at the Premier Horse Sale’s Best of Texas

The Best of Texas sale in Fort Worth this year was an unforgettable experience for Diamond K, marking a week of hard work, camaraderie, and tremendous success. With five of our finest horses— Charmer, Gellert, Ronan, Smooch, and Prince —we arrived early to make sure everything was in place for what was sure to be a competitive and high-energy event.

Settling In and Preparing for Sale Day

We got to Fort Worth early in the week, giving ourselves time to settle the horses in and get a feel for the atmosphere. As always, the city welcomed us with that iconic Texas hospitality. Fort Worth has an energy that’s hard to describe—there’s a deep-rooted respect for horses, tradition, and the western lifestyle. Being part of an event like the Premier Horse Sale’s Best of Texas only enhances that experience.

It was heartening to have our entire partner base from Missouri join us for the week. In our business, success isn’t just about the horses; it’s about the people behind them. Having the team together felt like a family reunion, with everyone pitching in and supporting each other.

Magnum Charmer’s Moment in the Spotlight

Charmer was one of the highlights of our week. From the moment we arrived, we knew he was going to make an impression. Lot 32 was his designated spot in the lineup, and as the sale progressed, you could feel the anticipation growing. Charmer had already built quite a reputation, and now it was his time to shine.

When the moment finally arrived for Charmer to enter the ring, the atmosphere was electric. The bidding started, and it wasn’t long before it took off. As the numbers climbed higher, the crowd’s energy followed, and it became clear this was going to be a special sale. When the gavel fell at $130,000, the entire venue erupted in applause. Charmer had earned his place as the High Seller of the Best of Texas sale, and we were thrilled. He was heading to a beautiful farm in Wisconsin, a perfect match for his potential and skill set.

Prince Pony: Earning the High Selling Pony Buckle

Later in the sale, another one of our standout entries, Prince, stepped into the spotlight. There was a personal goal set by one of our partner’s sons, Dillon Hostetler, who had his heart set on earning the title of High Selling Pony. The pony buckle meant a lot to Dillon, and we were all rooting for him and Prince.

The bidding for Prince was competitive, and as it progressed, we could feel the excitement mounting. The hard work and dedication that Dillon and our team had put into Prince was being rewarded. When Prince sold for $22,000, we knew we had achieved something truly special. Dillon’s dream came true as he proudly earned his buckle as the High Selling Pony, marking a milestone in our journey.

Wrapping Up a Successful Sale

As the sale continued, we saw more of our horses find new homes. Ronan and Smooch, ended up going to the same family, ensuring they would stay together, which was a wonderful outcome. We’ve always believed that the right home is just as important as the right price, and seeing them head off together was a great feeling.

Gellert, one of our other standout horses, was headed to South Florida, where he would enjoy the sunshine and likely become a staple in his new environment. We are excited for what the future holds for him.

With Charmer going to Wisconsin and Prince heading to Iowa, it felt like we had made connections all across the country. The Best of Texas sale had reminded us why we do what we do—connecting great horses with the right people.

Looking Ahead: Preparing for the Best of the West and Quarter Horse Congress

As the week wrapped up, we were grateful for the time spent with our partners and the opportunities that the sale had brought. But in the horse world, there’s always the next goal, the next sale, and the next challenge. For us, that means looking ahead to the Best of the West sale, where Bazooka, Vinny, and Sterling will be representing Diamond K.

We’re also gearing up for the prestigious Quarter Horse Congress, an event that holds significant weight in our industry. The Best of Texas sale was a week to remember—full of wins, connections, and a sense of accomplishment that comes from hard work and dedication. As we head back home, our thoughts are already on the next opportunity, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Diamond K.

This sale marked another chapter in the Diamond K legacy, and we look forward to continuing to build on this momentum. It’s more than just selling horses—it’s about being part of a tradition, creating lasting relationships, and sharing the journey with our partners, family, and friends.
