Meet Thunder, a 2018 buckskin gelding standing at 15 hands tall and weighing 1,150 lbs. Diamond K has had the pleasure of owning Thunder since he was a yearling, and in that time, he has developed into a stunning, well-rounded horse with an easygoing personality. Thunder is a “been there, done that” kind of horse, excelling in a variety of disciplines from ranch work to trail riding, arena work, and even roping. With his striking coat color and friendly demeanor, Thunder is a horse that’s not only beautiful but also incredibly fun and easy to work with.
Thunder’s versatility shines in everything he does. He has an easy neck rein, performs smooth lead changes, and can side pass with ease. His gaits, including walk, trot, and canter, are very smooth and comfortable, making him a joy to ride. Thunder is confident and spook-free on the trails, whether he’s riding alone or in a group. He’s traffic-safe and even enjoys trips into town, like when we took him to get ice cream! Thunder handles obstacles like tarps, bullwhips, gunfire, and dogs without any issues. He’s also a pleasure to ride bareback and bridleless, demonstrating his trustworthiness and training.
