Double registered, cute as a button, and an own son of Colonel Smoking Gun—meet Pippen!

This one is as cute and fancy and fun as they come. He has a great personality. He is very willing and great in the arena as well as outside. He has a proven show record in the ranch riding and is super cool and fun to have around.

Pippen is a 2021 AQHA, NRHA, and APHA registered dun gelding, standing 14.2 hands tall and weighing 1,100 lbs.! He’s an own son of Colonel Smoking Gun and out of a great mare, Dun It’s Deja Vu, who is by Hollywood Dun It!

Do you want one that you can hang out with and he’s going to be your friend for life? This one right here is that! Pippen enjoys going and doing a day’s work or just hanging out and being a cool friend.

We’ve gotten to know Pippen since he was a three-year-old and have enjoyed following him, and now have the pleasure of owning and representing him as one of our been-through-the-program horses! This one is super easy and does not require a high-level rider to get along with him. He’s easy for all levels!

Pippen is excellent outside and is very safe on the trails or doing a day’s work on the ranch. We’ve used him a ton outside doing ranch chores, from gathering cattle to roping and everything in between. He is super safe outside and will go anywhere you point him.

Pippen is also excellent in the arena and knows all the reining maneuvers as well as the ranch riding maneuvers. He’s great in ranch patterns as well as the trail, plus has a huge sliding stop and big spins.

Pippen is one of those types of horses that if someone has never stopped a horse, we put them on him. He’s so easy to stop and learn how to do a sliding stop with.

He is the same horse each and every day and is very consistent and confident.

He’s another one of our horses that is excellent no matter if you’re at home or hauling to a new environment with new horses and commotion. He handles it great and does not get worried, and stays exactly the same each and every day in whatever environment he’s in.

Pippen is also excellent with the kids and takes care of them. He does not make us get worried when the kids show up, pull him out of the stall, and go play around on him when we are not around. He’s one of them that we don’t have to worry about!

He is great to load, haul, clip, bathe, shoe, saddle, etc.

He is 100% sound with no vices or bad habits and is up to date on everything, including X-rays and a PPE. We are excited to offer this special individual at the 2026 SoCal Premier Horse Sale in Santa Barbara, California!
