Chip, Sky, and Blue are three exceptional five-year-old geldings who have been specially selected to join the Ocala Mounted Patrol Unit in Ocala, Florida. These horses have undergone rigorous training at Diamond K and have successfully passed all the necessary tests to qualify for their roles in law enforcement. Their selection for this prestigious position speaks volumes about their temperament, training, and readiness to handle the challenges of mounted police work. They will be serving throughout Marion County and the Ocala area, including the World Equestrian Center, where they’ll be visible ambassadors of safety and security.
These three geldings have proven their resilience and calm demeanor in some of the most challenging conditions. To earn their place in the Ocala Mounted Patrol Unit, Chip, Sky, and Blue had to pass a series of intense tests, including navigating nearly 100 obstacles, enduring the sound of gunfire and road flares, managing crowd control situations, and remaining composed with helicopters flying overhead. They were also tested on their ability to stand quietly together and then separate while staying calm and collected. These tests ensure that they are well-equipped to handle the demands of their new roles with confidence and grace.
